The Pledge

• EM-NOUS Technologies will not confuse aspiration with evidence.

• We will distinguish what is implemented from what is proposed, what is technically observable from what is experimentally supported, and what is being investigated from what has actually been demonstrated.

• We will not claim consciousness because a system has state.

• We will not claim emotion because a system has internal variables.

• We will not claim safety because software behaves correctly in a test suite.

• We will not claim that governance is solved because one architecture appears promising.

• We will build, measure, challenge, revise, and record.

Because increasingly capable artificial intelligence deserves governance capable of doing more than asking it to follow the rules.

The model should not be the only thing deciding what happens next.
